Lara's research gets published

In January, Lara’s research from her MS degree was published in Landscape Ecology, a top tier ecological journal. As a fellow graduate student and colleague, I witnessed her hard, work, blood, sweat, and tears that went into this research. It’s great to see it disseminated to the scientific community now. Special thanks to Don for making sure this happened.

One of the qualities that I admired about Lara most was her ability to discuss the spatial autocorrelation structure of historical fire regimes with the same ease that she discussed technical rock climbing. It’s easy to think about how far Lara could have gone in her career and education, as she knew no limits and demonstrated her confidence. Like us, the field of landscape ecology is missing out from her presence and contributions.
